You need to enforce time limit to the kids for using computer. Computer is their main source of entertainment and they also get to learn many things from it. But some children might get addicted to computer and might want to sit there the whole day. Children must be exposed to society and communities as well, the real interaction is much healthier than interacting friends online. Therefore parents need to teach their kids on time management thereby enforcing it with a parental monitoring device.

Initially parents should decide how much time their kids need to spend time in computer, allow them to do home work and school projects each day with some allowances for their entertainment as well. Next thing is to figure out which hour of the day will be best for them to surf online. Many children keep their studies aside and play computer game all day long. Now it is up to you to decide how long you should allow your kids to use computer and at which particular hour. If you have decided then you are already half way, just follow these simple steps.

If you are using Windows Operating System then go to the ‘Control Panel’ and open ‘User Accounts’ then you will select the ‘Parental Controls’ option. You will be asked to set password if you don’t have one as an administrator.  Now select the account that your kid is using and go to ‘Parental Controls’ button after which you will select ‘Enforce Current Settings’. This is the page where you will find the settings for ‘Time Limits’, on the displayed grid, you should adjust the amount of time that you want to permit the user. You can also set the particular time of the day that you want the computer to be active.

This feature is required only if your kid is spending too much time in the computer and when parents are too busy to monitor their activities. Parental time control is as important as parental monitoring because the kids may be spending too much time in the computer playing games or chatting with friends but not getting blocked by any software because they are not visiting any unwanted sites. That is why you require putting time limit so that the kids don’t spend over time in the internet or computer.
